Earlier this year we helped the Gelb family of Redondo Beach, CA modernize their kitchen. This kitchen had been left untouched for a few decades and featured raised panel cabinets, tile counters, and incandescent can lights; a stereotypical 80's look.
The owners liked the original layout so we preserved it as best we could while adding contemporary touches, additional storage, and plenty of pull outs. Our main goal was to enhance the cooking experience by making way for a new double-oven range, larger exhaust fan, and larger apron sink. The envy of every home chef that loves to cook at home.
We called upon our trusted cabinet makers (many of whom have been working in the South Bay for several decades) to manufacture custom oak cabinets with a matte stain finish and soft-close hardware . These pictures do not do it justice, these cabinets looks incredible in person. The new kitchen cabinets feature Rev-A-Shelf pull outs and organizers including a pull-out spice rack , two (2) pantry pull-out shelve systems, two (2) half moon lazy susans, two (2) drawer pull-outs, and a seldom seen toe kick drawer. These stained cabinets were paired with Della Terra quartz countertops in Citrine (from Arizona Tile) and accented by a 3x12 Flash ceramic wall tile in Ivory (from Arizona Tile). These warm tones create an inviting yet contemporary look that is sure to charm guests and family alike. This home has hardwood floors throughout the entire first floor that the owners wanted to preserve in the kitchen, luckily our designers found & sourced hickory floors from Hallmark Floors that perfectly match their existing floors. This all-new kitchen also received plumbing & electrical upgrades, as well as a new electrical panel. But no new kitchen renovation is complete without new appliances. This kitchen showcases an eight burner double-oven range from Bluestar appliances, complemented by a 48" Tempest 1 under-cabinet range hood from Zephyr, and a new Miele dishwasher. All of these new appliances were purchased from and installed by Universal Appliance & Kitchen Center.
