Well, the first thing you should do is….come up with a budget you feel comfortable with! This often times is not the same amount that the home addition will cost. You should have a realistic idea of what it will cost but the budget is the amount you want to spend. You don’t want to have someone design something for you that you cannot afford to build. That is why it is so important to visualize a dollar figure you are willing to invest in the project. I can’t tell you how many times a year people bring us construction drawings that they cannot afford to do anything with.
