About Bay Cities Construction
General contractors don’t have the best reputation. In fact, they’re amongst the top three of things that people do not like to deal with. Our mission is to change that. We want our clients to have the smoothest and most comfortable experience during their project.
At Bay Cities Construction (BCC), we are dedicated to providing our clients with the best experience possible. Our office is based in Torrance, and have spent more than two decades working on homes across the South Bay and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and most of that work falls into a few clear categories (but not limited to): balcony repair and waterproofing, seismic and foundation work, and full-scope kitchen, bathroom, and addition remodels.
We work with homeowners directly and with HOAs and property managers on multi-unit balcony scopes. Every project we take on is scoped end to end before we start, which is how we avoid the change orders that catch most homeowners off guard partway through a build. Our clients can visit current and past job sites to inspect workmanship and talk to past customers before they sign anything.

-
How does the Rancho Palos Verdes architectural review process affect my project?
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes requires formal review for most exterior changes, height additions, view-impacting work, and significant remodels. -
What is Limited Demo Discovery and when is it recommended?
Limited Demo Discovery is a paid diagnostic service in which our crew opens a section of a balcony to expose the actual structural condition underneath. It is recommended when visible damage suggests deeper structural issues and a more accurate full-repair quote is needed. Pricing starts at $1,000 per balcony for 1 to 9 balconies, and $800 per balcony when the total reaches 10 or more across one or more properties. The on-site visit that precedes the discovery is free.
-
My building was built before 1981. Does that affect my project?
It can. California law requires asbestos testing before any demolition work in buildings constructed before 1981. We coordinate the testing for you. If results come back negative, the project proceeds. If asbestos is present, we connect you with a certified abatement specialist before any demo begins.
-
Do you work with HOAs and property managers on Peninsula properties?
Yes. We handle full-scope balcony repair and waterproofing for HOAs and property management firms, including SB 326 compliance work, engineering coordination, and phased construction scheduling for occupied units.

We serve the entire Palos Verdes Peninsula including Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates, along with neighboring communities such as San Pedro, Lomita, Torrance, Redondo Beach, and the broader South Bay.
