The Schmitz family selected Bay Cities Construction to help them redesign their awkwardly designed kitchen in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

After purchasing this home in Rancho Palos Verdes the owners quickly realized that they hated the kitchen; it lacked storage and had a dated 90's look. They called our office to schedule a consultation and we quickly got the remodel process started. Our goal was clear; design a kitchen with plenty of counter space and efficient storage.

The previous owners had attempted to remodel the kitchen themselves - this was made clear when they decided to place an oval-shaped island, at a 45° angle, right in the middle of the kitchen. One thing was clear, the new owners wanted the island gone. Our team of designers worked with the homeowners to design a sleek modern kitchen, with plenty of storage and rev-a-shelf pullouts. We shopped at various showrooms, sourcing various materials, all to help our customers make selections that fit their design aesthetic and their budget. We accommodated our customers by collaborating with them virtually as both husband and wife travel for work, sometimes for weeks on end. 

We were able to achieve a contemporary look by using semi-custom cabinets with Italian doors from Cleaf S.p.A., and we also utilized 'lemans' shelves from Rev-A-Shelf on all the corner cabinets. The lemans shelves help us make sure there is no wasted space. This kitchen also features quartz countertops from MSI and a tile backsplash that goes up to the ceiling. A large kitchen deserves a large sink, here we sourced a stainless steel under-mount sink from KRAUS, paired with a complimentary MOEN Caldwel faucet.
