34-torrance remodel new vinyl fence

Large 4,000 sq. ft. Full home remodel in Torrance, CA.

This family selected Bay Cities Construction to help them renovate and remodel their large home with an attached rental unit in Torrance, CA before it was listed for sale.

This custom home was built in the 1990s but sat abandoned for a couple of years after suffering major water damage. The owner selected our team to help restore and renovate this incredible property. Living out of state, the owner trusted us to manage the entire project from start to finish. We helped the customer make 'value-add' upgrades to ensure the listing fetched top dollar.

This project was a true "blank slate" because everything was being renovated. Including three bedrooms, three en suite bathrooms, one family room, one living room, a dining room, and the kitchen. The owner lived outside of the state and only came to Torrance a few times a year so every consultation with our designers was vital. We helped them pick material selections that were stylish and would appeal to potential buyers. This large home was just missing one thing, another bedroom. We advised the owner that converting a den into an extra bedroom would help attract buyers with larger families.

We first began by drafting up plans to submit to the city of Torrance to show all of the renovations we intended to make. After the plans were approved we pulled all necessary permits to begin this month's long renovations. We began downstairs with the kitchen, laundry room, and en suite bathroom. Also included an over-the-living space balcony that suffered intensive water damage and had to be completely redone. The large kitchen was completely redone with contemporary white cabinets and a new center island to give it a better layout. Flowing through the kitchen were beautiful Calacatta vintage quartz countertops from MSI. The semi-custom cabinets included pull-outs from Rev-A-Shelf. Passing through the kitchen a marvelous SPC flooring in the color New Mexico flowed through the whole house. Moving upstairs, the main bedroom featured a deep soaker tub and a large walk-in shower, with Artsy tile from Daltile on the shower walls. As well as Schluter chrome trim and a side-by-side vanity. All en suite bathrooms showcased contemporary plumbing fixtures from Hansgrohe. Exterior upgrades included: All new double-paned white vinyl windows, french patio doors, exterior hardscape, new landscaping, new exterior balcony deck, and a new "cool" shingle roof for the main residence and the rental unit in the rear.

Bay Cities Construction provided Interior Design services, City Submittal & Permit services, and Construction/Renovation Services. The owner placed this property for sale soon after the work was completed and received several offers over the asking price. We aim to help our customers renovate their homes to get the look they've always dreamed of. All of our workmanship is backed by a one-year warranty - schedule a consultation anytime online and learn how we can transform the look of your home.
